Letters to the editor:
Dear Sir,
Did you hear or read Lou Dobbs commentary on the war on drugs???
Dobbs: The war within, killing ourselves.
POSTED: 11:50 a.m. EST, February 21, 2007
I found it to be one of the best examples of eyes open but mind turned off! Please read it at; www.cnn.com/2007/us/02/13/Dobbs.Feb14/index.html .
Everything he said is true until the last line where he proves incapable of thought. “Whatever course we follow in prosecuting other wars, we must commit ourselves as members of this great society to only one option in the War on Drugs -- victory.
I find this vary funny! What would he except as a victory? Half of the public in jail and the other half working in law enforcement? There can be no victory. If you want to stop the problem, of illegal drugs make them legal! “You cannot legislate moral behavior.”
What would happen to the black market if there were no illegal drugs? What about the cartels and gangs who could no longer make millions? Not to mention the back yard chemist who cooks up small amounts of methamphetamine?
It seems to me that our choices are: Turn the US into a police state or eliminate stupid laws! Which would prefer?
